The Frustration with Productivity Culture

Summary: The Mythical Man-Month, a book by Fred Brooks, gave rise to the revolution of agile methodologies, which helped overcome many inefficiencies. The software industry didn’t increase productivity by demanding more from its engineers, instead, it developed a more productive system to organize their efforts. Simple? I'm not sure.


Moving Beyond Agile to Become a Software Innovator

Summary: I am always asking myself: how to help teams to go through the agile plateau!? So, here is another interesting reading this week to share with you, while I am still trying to organize my thoughts with these unanswered questions. Until companies address these issues, they are likely to languish on an “agile plateau,” improving their methodology but not their business outcomes.

How to Raise an Independent Thinker

Summary: Just like in mentorship, parenting is about teaching kids how to think rather than what to think. And it’s probably the hardest thing a parent will ever do. As adults, we reflect and see there are aspects of the way we were raised that we are incredibly thankful for, and there are aspects which we recognize our parents could’ve done better.

The Basic Education in Sweden and Brazil [Portuguese]
