An Open Letter to Brazil

Source: Mark Manson Website
Author: Mark Manson

This article took my by heart when first suggested by my friend Lairton Ballin.  The author of the letter has spent four years in Brazil and will soon marry a Brazilian woman. He believes that the problems in Brazil are due to the culture and mindset of the people.

"... when you punish somebody for being more successful than others, you discourage the most talented and ambitious from creating the progress and innovation that the country needs. You hold back the very people that are going to pull you out of this mess in the first place and you make room for the manipulative and mediocre leaders to take their place..."

He believes that the problems in Brazil are due to the culture and mindset of the people. He argues that Brazilians prioritize their own interests and those of their family and friends first (look to the politicians) over the greater good of society, leading to a lack of accountability and a focus on vanity. He suggests that an internal revolution is needed, in which Brazilians set new standards and expectations for themselves and prioritize a safe and strong society above their own interests.

How to Build Your Personal GPTs

Source: Hacker Noon
Author: Sergey Baloyan

OpenAI has launched GPTs (Generative Pre-trained Transformers), which are custom versions of ChatGPT that allow users to create versions of ChatGPT that are more helpful in their daily lives, work, or specific tasks. Users can create their own GPTs without any coding skills, initiate a conversation, provide instructions and additional knowledge, and select capabilities such as web searching, image creation, or data analysis.

OpenAI is also launching the GPT Store, where users can share their GPTs publicly. The GPT Store will feature creations by verified builders, allowing GPTs to become searchable, and creators to earn money based on the popularity of their GPTs.

Book Notes #105: Make Your Bed by William H. McRaven

Source: Book Notes of the Week

It sounds small, but the author, a tough Navy SEAL, explains how this tiny task sets a positive tone for the whole day. He shares stories from his military life to show that discipline and teamwork are key to success. The book teaches us important stuff easily.

First, it says life can be tough, but making your bed helps you handle problems better. Second, it talks a lot about working together. McRaven shows that we're stronger when we help each other. Lastly, he says facing fears is a big deal. Whether big or small, challenges are part of life, and dealing with them makes you stronger.
